How to do proper sound design in the Video Sequence Editor? As it is, you can't. It's way too limited in functionality. However, with this add-on, Audacity can be integrated in Blender, so you can control Audacity from Blender and pipe the edited audio data back and forth between the two softwares.
Features:
- Start/stop recording from Blender, do the audio editing in Audacity and receive the edited recording in Blender.
- Send the full sequence, the selected strips or single strip to Audacity.
- Receive the edited full sequence(mixdown), the selected strips(mixdown) or single strip in Blender from Audacity.
- Play Audacity in sync with Blender, so you can use Blender as a video preview while doing the sound design in Audacity. While playing in sync, the audio in Blender will be muted, so the Audio from Audacity can be heard solo(but not in single strip mode).

yes indeed! Thanx a lot for this tip!
Another software integrated seamlessly! Lots of people use Audacity and for Blender this means yet bigger range. One great news. Myself used Audacity tones in VSE.
This is amazing!! great job!
Awesome!
Would this open the door to using Blender as a realtime audio processor ?
Like pipe in music from a live source and have geometry nodes react to it ?
Brilliant! This is a just the sort of open source + open source integration that Blender deserves.
This is awesome!
I normally record tutorials in OBS, edit in Blender, but i still need Audacity to do normalise, noise reduction, and compression... this will speed that up a fair bit.
aaahhh, tin to the rescue
indeed blender lacks integrated audio tools
for video a wind noise removal can be done with some filters ...
thx for sharing
have fun
