This add-on looks like it would be a lot of fun working with, especially since it has so much features to help a person make a city, but the price, isn’t really going to cut it for me. Why is it that a city generator always cost money to purchase? I don’t like to criticize a individuals work, especially since they work so hard on a product, making it functional and easy to use. I understand the reason behind making a updated version of the Suicidator City Generator, calling it SceneCity, and making it a premium add-on (SceneTerrain and SceneSkies are also premium add-ons), and making updates free only to those who’ve already paid for the product. I also know that the money is going to the right place (developing updates/features for the add-ons, supporting the Blender Foundation, etc), but whenever there’s a price tag on something, some people can get it since that’s within their budget, but for those who are working on a project with a $0 budget, it make it impossible to get something to increase workflow speed, forcing them to either abandon their project, or to spend a a ridiculously large amount of time creating cities for their game (which is something I will have to do).
Omar if you think this is expensive go look up what any other city generator would cost. They are 10X or more expensive. Nothing makes you abandon your project. IF you were already doing this with free suicidator and a version of blender that worked. Then you stick with that version. That’s how the entire industry works. ILM doesn’t update to new versions (except bug fixes) mid-project unless they absolutely need to.
