Here is an update for the free Blender FBX export addon Batex to export one material only for game assets to be used in game engines like Unreal Engine 4 or Substance Painter for texturing.

Really cool idea!
Silly question but for 2.82 how is this installed? And what to install? Everything goes into the Script folder like in 2.79? Thanks!
Dont unzip it, install it from zip in the user preferences.
Thanks! The Github list confused me I thought I was to install everything. Got lots of questions regarding Batex like, after the export to say Unity is done, where does the material come from? Does Batex combine all the materials onto one material file like baking would? And if you have a texture as part of the object, will this still work? I'm a bit new to exporting to games. I have objects, like to my first question, that have six or seven materials to the object. I was figuring I would have to bake the materials onto one file so each object has only one "texture" file per object.
