Procedural Environment Design in Blender 2.82

Curtis Holt writes:

Hi everyone,

In this video, I provide a breakdown of my recent attempt to create a procedural alien environment in Blender 2.82. We'll take a look at:

  • How to use the modifier stack to create strange rocky shapes.
  • Using materials with adaptive subdivision and displacement to create the ground topology.
  • Using generated noise textures with transparency and emission for fog/mist effects.

Though not necessary to follow along, you can pick up a copy of the finished .blend file on Gumroad.

Thanks for watching and have a great day!

  1. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge!
Cant wait for Blender 2.9/3.0, when even more parts of Blender becomes Node accessable and can be procedural.
