I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. I know some Blender users are very anti corporation involvement in Blender, and I do understand it to a point, but Blender has a very long, tried and true track record as open source, and these corporations are having to play by the open source rules. The amount of time, effort, and respect that is being given to Blender by these companies is a testament to the program, and is pushing Blender forward. Great to see someone who is simply passionate about Blender and bridging that gap.
