If you make addons, use addons, or are just spectating the Twitter debates about addon piracy, this is a discussion you won't want to miss!
In this livestream, Jonathan Williamson (creator of Retopoflow) and Jonathan Lampel (CG Cookie's Blender trainer) discussed how Blender's Open Source GPL license affects the users and creators of free and paid Blender addons.

Blendee is pure rubbish! Awkward UI. Terrible Interface and the use of shortcuts is really bad! Even TrueSpace 3.2 works better than Blender today.
Blender is only liked because it has a lot of people who dislike piracy and willing to spend time learning it as it makes them feel morally good. Problem is it is a joke in the real world of Modelling and CGI. Anything that costs nothing and open source will be ridiculed and buggy. Amaxed bo hackers have taken over and inserted a few backdoors to bitcoin accounts! I would if I knew how.
Whoever created this obviously hates using the mouse! Keyboard shortcuts are good but this is all Blender is! No quick and easy menus to create things. Nope shortcut after shortcut!
Lazy creating if you ask me!
Muhahaha. I don't think I ever read such a funny comment on this site. How did you get here ? :)
Obvious troll is obvious!
Hey TOBY O BRIEN forgot to take your meds today? Please get out of blender and leave us alone.
Thank you. I really needed a laugh.
*just laughing* (Everything else to say has already been commented *g*)
Hilarious
I am doing 3D for over 30 years. Worked with Softimage since 1991. Mainly in the commercial business. I have no idea what drives you to post such a funny and wrong statement. Was your internet down the last 10 years and missed the 2.80 development? Are you a frustrated underpaid Maya troll? So many questions ...
To be fair, a mass amount of keyboard shortcuts are annoying from a professional standpoint. One hand on keyboard, other on manipulation device (mouse, spacepro [arguable], etc.). The UI should embrace both entries to be efficient. And I mean beyond programming said devices. There should always be button-like equivalents to access commands.
I hated Blender. With 2.8 i've found my love. 2 mounths ago I left 3DS Max, Modo, Sketchup and couple other apps and set my sails for Blender. It's the only software out there being able to do it all.
Those shortcuts you talk about are easily found in the menus in 2.8. also, you can just press F3 and search for whatever you need exactly like 3DS Max or other software. The steep learning curve has been flattened a lot with 2.8. Give it a go, you might love it like millions of people jumping on 2.8 train
Well, from MY professional standpoint, keyboard shortcuts is what makes Blender usability great in the first place! I can only wish more software developers would use similar approach, with dynamic context and consistency
Há 10 anos uso o Frankeinsten, digo 3DSMax. A Autodesk fez a fama e deitou na cama. A fila anda e o Blender pegou todos de calça curta. Estou gostando muito dessa interface, apesar de achar que ainda faltam alguns recursos no software. Melhor mirar na frente para ver onde o software vai chegar.
