Sculpting a Hermit Crab in Blender 2.8|Timelapse

Hi everyone, my name is Masha! I'm a 3D artist from Russia, now living and working in Italy.

I did this hermit crab for the Sculptjanuary 2019 Challenge. The topic was "tiny" and it took me 4 hours to make it more or less. Basically what I've done is to block out the general shapes and then sculpt the details. I used the Beta of blender 2.8 for this work and it was a good occasion to get used to the new version of this program.

That being said, thank you for your attention and enjoy!

    • Hey, Thank You!
Actually no. I just blocked out the base mesh to find the right position for the cup and haven't sculpted the part that is inside, just a little piece to maintain the continuity of shapes and to make shure that the unsculpted part is't visible from any point of view.
