Since there is no Blender Screencast Keys Addon at the moment in Blender 2.8 I decided to create an own one. It is called Shortcut VUr that you can get for free from my github.
In this video I show the addon in action and also explain how it is implemented.

Thank you kindly, good sir! Welcome back, screencast keys!
very nice! I'll try it out for sure
Not working anymore? I've check and try to enable the add on but getting some error and addon not active. See the picture that i've attach
Hi, just working on this, thx for the info.
Hello. I've downloaded and installed the addon in Preferences. Do I need to explicitly now execute the code to make it available?
No, the addon can be activated by pressing a button in the sidebar (press N to show the sidebar)
Thanks. Much appreciated :)
If I use the Blender Icons eg. add, move, rotate, does your addon display the associated shortcut keys. This would be a really great feature
Ok, thx will have a look
i downloaded it, unzipped it but as i am on a mac, it gets screwy from there. i tried adding it on via user preferences but i get an error when saving to preferences, default gives me nada. and its not showing up in the 'n' toolbox. help please?
Hi JAYANAM can you make the ADD ON display to center of the screen? I can not see my keys in edit mode because of the Toolbar. BTW thank you so much for the add on.
Excellent work, thank you very much it will make tutorials clearer and allow narration to focus on the subject matter rather than the keymappings.
Hello,
Thanks for this plug in !
but how do you set to Show CTRL / SHIFT / ALT - They don't show up when pressed ?
