Blenderseed, the Blender plugin for the open source Appleseed renderer, is on a roll!
Recent updates include support for new BRDF and BSDF shaders (recflectance and scattering), a new user interface, better material preview and more.

It is ...have error then i trying to enable this addon on 2.79.
change name of addon folder to' appleseed'; affter instaling ,very common bug this days.. of many addons
but this render sucks, I'm waiting for redshift to blnd ;]
Appleseed's got rather a ways to go, but it doesn't "suck."
In any case, I'm just grateful for whatever progress they make.
(Also, it's not a clean comparison to compare Appleseed to Redshift. Appleseed's style is closer to Arnold than Redshift.)
thanks i try it tomorrow
@oneflybear What's your error?
Does it support light dispersion? Or is this at least on the roadmap?
@ilyak It doesn't support light dispersion yet, but it will in a future version. It's a very fitting feature since appleseed is capable of full spectral rendering. You can think of it as an open source alternative somewhere between Arnold and Maxwell.
Thanks for replying. That's super exciting. I only wish there were more tutorials.
We're working on fresh, up-to-date tutorials and, soon, screencasts.
Errrrrm do you have a YouTube channel?
Hi Adam, we have a Vimeo channel (https://vimeo.com/appleseedhq) but we haven't uploaded any new screencasts or tutorials yet.
You may want to think about making a youtube channel. At least with a YouTube channel, you could be making money from it to help fund development. You need over ten thousand views to apply for ads.
So get on it as fast as possible and make a posting schedule and calendar. Before someone else steals your thunder and dev money.
Love your work guys.
