This weekend, we're challenging you to create a castle in Blender. Any kind of castle goes: one from medieval times, a fairy tale one or perhaps one from a fantasy world?
Rules:
- Post your work in the comments below (yes, we have a nifty new 'attach image' option below the comments box for this!)
- Post only new work, not existing.
- Deadline: Monday April 10 at 23:59 (Amsterdam time)
- Yan and I will pick the winner.
- The winner will get a post next week, and will get to pick next weekend’s contest theme.
If you need a little help, here's a tutorial on modeling a castle in Blender.
Have fun! :)

Nice! Is the weekend challenges starting backup?
Yes! I wanted to bring it back as everyone was having so much fun :)
Thats funny, i was literally about to email you guys asking you if the weekend challenges were ever going to start again, and it looks like they have!
haha awesome :-)
Quick-ish build of an Irish style castle.
And here's a small, medieval castle.
a SAND castle! 99% blender (1% for external environment map texture), no post processing. Render Time: 40 mins.
I'm not super happy with the sand textures - still learning how to do procedural stuff in Cycles - but this was the best I could do with the time I had. Any suggestions for how I could create the white surf that hits the shore?
Nice job. I especially like the seaweed flags!
As for the foam you might check out this tutorial:

It's not directly about foam on the beach, but the technique should work.
Or you could cheat, with lots of transparent bubbles duli-verted!
Hi everyone
This is my castle for the weekend challenge. A castle from the future... I'm not all that comfortable with the final result but i don't have time to put on this anymore. Hope you like it.
Hello Bart.
Attached is my entry.
Thanks. :)
Nice lighting!
Hi,
here is my Castle.
I got a little distracted with playing with colors and lights, but there's a castle there somewhere. Rendered with Blender Internal. (modeled and lit in blender with a little post in gimp.) I used 2.69 since they took the stars out sometime after that. (usually I use 2.78)
Here's my attempt at "My castle" :)
Where to post the palace?
You can attach it to your comments; there's an option below the form. This challenge is over though - we just announced the winner earlier today. But feel free to still post it!
