Blender Theme: Energy v18

4

Here's an update log of the changes in LightBWK's Energy theme since V14.

LightBWK writes:

Blender theme Energy has a new version to accompany every Blender release (except bug fix releases). We are currently at version 18. Since last post here (Energy v14), there are numerous changes to enhance this theme. They are mainly in 2 categories:

  1. Contrast
  2. Hue

Here is the full change list since version 14:

  • V15: Energy now supports pie menus.
  • V16: Energy has gone flat. Fixed tools tab color. Dark grey color as scroll bar. Fixed timeline frame text with the new scroll bar color, plus tiny fixes everywhere.
  • V17: Removed gradient on 3D view background (bad gradient on video capture); fixed text color on VSE & Movie Clip Editor scroll bar; 3D view: slightly darker panel headers with optimization for transparency.
  • V18: Fixed progress bar’s color.

You can download Blender theme Energy v18 here.

Plus: you can also see planned changes for Energy v19

  1. I like this theme. I was using v13 though and having changed to v18 the orange is less bright which is harder to read for me. I can just change back but I wonder if there is any reason for the change.

    • V13's orange was too bright and hence causing retina burn. I toned it down a bit to mix well with everything else in the UI. On my Samsung screens (which has Adobe RGB color range) that orange is extremely saturated. Don't want to make it look toxic orange.

Even the white in the UI only has 0.8 in value. You can only find true white (RGB 1,1,1) on the icons.

*shrug* "too bright" is a matter of opinion. On my monitor, for me, it's harder to read than it was.

        • Then you should find all the orange in the theme editor and change its value from 0.8 to 1.0 and you should be ok. There are only few of them.
