Add realistic puddles to your night scenes to improve their 'balance' and visual attraction. Andrew talks you through creating wet looking materials in a little under four minutes.
Can you guess what my favourite part of this video was? :)
Puddles! Hollywood loves ’em. In almost every movie, you’ll notice that night time shots are almost dripping with water. (Even if it makes no sense for the story)
Discover How To:
- Make any material look wet
- Create puddles procedurally (no painting or uv unwrapping)
- Understand why wet materials look like they do

Andrew's grown. A lot. I enjoy this short well-paced style of his lately. It delivers the information in a direct and flowing way that the brain appreciates.
For some folks wanting the longer videos from him again, I'd say that style's more apt for something like a full project.
But for short user tips and one-topic videos like this one, this pace here is perfect.
Also, nice topic, Andrew. One often overlooked. Your result looks nice, as well.
