Hi guys,
did you ever wonder which features are going to show up in the newest Blender release? In this series I'll present at least twice a month new and (hopefully) useful features for all of you outside the Blender 3D development universe... all those features are brand new and are available in the current official Blender release (this is episode 3/3 and covers 2.73)...
In this episode:
Movie Clip Editor:
- New Screen Layout
- More than 20 times faster affine trackingGraph Editor:
- H for hiding
- Alt+H for unhiding
- Shift H Only selectedUI:
- Fullscreen Editor (Alt F10), (Alt F9 toggles the header)
- Pie confirm threshold
- Chinese characters can now be entered in text buttons with IME (Input Method Editors)
- PKey does not automatically start the game engine when not in "game" engine
- New theme is in trunk (Flatty light)Modelling
- A new Freehand Knife Tool is now available (hold down the left mouse button), close the loop by double clicking
- Shrink / Fatten in Face Mode now uses the face normals
- Select More / Less can now step over adjacent faces (for square shaped selections)
- Select similar regions
- Individual Origins mode now supports proportional editing*Buy the book*

Superb, as ever! Clear, concise, well paced, and no silly music.
Now, if only Thomas could do 'sneak peeks' for every Blender feature, we would have the best help system in the world :-)
I know i'm probably just missing something stupid like always , but here goes anyway. the new specular settings for the viewport (cycles) , is there something I have to do to get those sliders to show up,.I just got 2.73a the other day and saw becks sneak peak #16 also. looks pretty simple, add a mat in cycles and there the setting are , at least in the sneak peak video . because in my download their not there. Soooooo what am I missing
