Monkaa

Monkaa is a blue furred, pink faced monkey who consumes a crystallized meteorite, making Monkaa invincibly strong and too hot to handle. Exploring his superpower Monkaa zooms into an unexplored universe.

Monkaa has been made by the new Mumbai studio Weybec. It is a 5 minutes short animated movie, entirely made with Blender and GIMP and other Free/Open Software programs. It has been released as an Open Movie, including all production files and tutorials, as Creative Commons Attribution.Although this short film has been produced independently, it was made possible thanks to support by the Blender Institute. Monkaa is a great educational example of design, animation and film making. Combined with all the extras and tutorials people will be enjoying the collection a lot – either as a DVD purchased in the blender.org e-store, or in Blender Cloud for the open production supporters.
