"The hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now."
Bjorn Strand submitted this image with great composition and stylised design and won our weekend's contest!
Bjorn - you’ll also get to pick the topic for next weekend! Please email me at bart @ this site and let me know what everyone should be spending their time on :)
Read on for some of the other cool entries - as always, these are a mix of the number of votes and a bit of my personal preference. This week, there were MANY great entries, so prepare for a long list :)
And by the way - I'm sorry for being so super late with the results for this weekend's contest! It does look like that gave everyone ample time to vote for their winners though, so maybe I'll move the results to Tuesday for next weekend's round?

Congrats Bjorn! I loved it as soon as I saw it, well done!
Thank you!
Very cool, well deserved win. I love the subtle touch of chromatic aberration, it's just right.
Thanks! I was hoping it wouldn't be too much!
Congrats to everyone who entered this week! I love that there were so many great entries. It looks like this contest thing is really starting to take off, guess I'm going to have to step up my game from here on out. :)
I would love to see a screenshot of file being edited in Blender with each entry, or at least with the winner ones...
Hi, this is a screenshot of my entry for example...
Gorgeous!!! Thank you very much!!!
you're welcome :)
I also liked this one a lot. Simple, yet to the point, and nicely executed!
If anyone is interested this is how my scene is setup, with a little bit extra in Photoshop at the end.
tehehe love the easter egg in the image *lol* by the way, I think there would be potential to this scene if it was animated... the real complexity and depth did not show in the still, but if the camera was moving across the object and the arrays would have a little bit of rotational movement as well.................
Woooah! That's weird...
Excellent!
PS: poor Suzanne :P
here's mine:
This is going very well!!! I love these screenshots as well as final renders!
It would to become a rule to the contest to post also a screenshot! :D
So oddly enough, in my travels this weekend I made a stop at my fathers house, who just happened to have about 4 of these around his kitchen island...
The funny thing is, I can no longer tell whether this is a real photograph or yet another brilliant Blender render! :P
lol, it's kinda grainy, probably Cycles.
Brilliant idea! I'll ask for that with the next contest.
Yaaay! o/
Here's mine with, and without rain (It makes it hard to see with the rain)
@bjornstrand:disqus man! I hate you! (I a good way)
This is cool! :D
The second image scares me...
Haha thanks man! Appreciate it!
Personally I like the camera and tubes of paint the best.
Congrats to the winner and to all those in general who completed something for this weekend challenge.
I'm cool with the Tuesday for the results next week. It sorta helps you think of Monday as being an extended part of the weekend.
Congrats to Bjørn! :) Very cool image of The Dark Knight. A lot of beautiful entries this time. Just keeps getting better and better. Weekend contest FTW! :)
Congrats to all of the winners! Very nice images indeed! :)
Looking forward to this weekend's contest!
