By José Lydio Nunes Jacques. Read on for an interactive version in Verold, a 3D embedding servie, and a short interview with José
1 - Tell us about the Mech model, the work you did?
I found it amazing! Because it is not exactly a common mech. It's a powered exoskeleton and I really like this kind of concept. I did the mapping and texturing on the model using Mari (The Foundry). Was very easy, because the topology was constructed in a very solid way. Thanks to Hulis, the guy who did it in Blender.
2- What was involved to prepare the model in the Verold viewer?
It was actually very easy. Just upload your mesh and textures: Diffuse, Normal, AO, Spec, etc.. Tweak the material settings, then add lights, fog and background. This is already in the engine, just click and add it. That's it. The model is 72K polygons, and the Verold engine behaves very well with this. Try to rotate the scene and you will see. It is very smooth.
3 - Would you recommend Verold to the Blender community, and if so why?
Yep. Sure. For any guy who works in this field. It's a great tool that can help us to show our job in real time and in any angle. For example: think about the game industry that we have right now. A lot of people searching for talented artists. It's important to show our project in the best way possible. And here, Verold can help a lot.
He also asked me to share some of his other projects, thought you'd be interested to see the other great things he's been creating with Blender:

Just to clarify, Castle Game Engine was not created by José. What you show in the video, is just standard view3dscene, the 3D model browser developed as part of the Castle Game Engine, http://castle-engine.sourceforge.net/engine.php . The engine and view3dscene is being developed by Michalis Kamburelis and others :)
Yes, I think the sentence "his Castle Game Engine" was misplaced. I'm just using the tool.
P.S.: Great tool, Michalis! =]
Ah sorry guys, I got a bit confused there, I guess. I've dropped the Castle Game Engine part as it doesn't seem to be very game related.
