Pandeia: Book I Kickstarter

Paul Caggegi's Pandeia is raising funds on Kickstarter in order to release the first episodes of Pandeia (a sci-fi comic made in Blender and Gimp) in print.

Paul Caggegi writes:

Pandeia is a sci-fi action adventure set in Earth's distant future. The premise is that a couple hundred years after the moon is destroyed, humanity has re-emerged from the cateclysm and forged new civilisations, complete with new economics, politics and religions. And they have left the pain and hurt of the past to be forgotten to history.

The hero, Corben Wallace, discovers an ancient book which leads him on a quest to uncover the secrets of the past, and ultimately save a future for humanity.

Most of this book was created using Blender and GIMP. The first 5 issues are now being collected into a single trade paperback. The kickstarter project's goal is to raise enough for a 1st official print-run. If you like good sci-fi, please have a look at this campaign.

Some rewards even include a tutorial on how to create a comic book page (all working files and template will be included in the download) as well as a royalty-free model of one of the vehicles rendered in the comic.

You can find out more on the project's Kickstarter page.

Note: I receive a LOT of requests for Kickstarter stories here at BlenderNation. The way I select which stories to actually share here is by looking at three things:

  1. The reputation of the artist in the Blender community.
  2. The likelihood of him actually finishing the project.
  3. The 'strength' of the connection of the project with Blender.

In Paul's case, all the lights are green :)
