Object Assembler is a unique new plugin that allows you to create a library of objects that you can then easily snap together.
Nikolaus Morawitz writes:
I'm very happy to announce the first release of the Object Assembler addon for blender. With this free addon you can quickly and easily assemble predefined models with automatic alignment. Those models may consist of meshes, materials, lamps or any other datablock. You can create your own models or download fully modelled, cycles-ready models from the model library.
Those models may consist of meshes, materials, lamps, actions, text, lattices, armatures, empties, speakers or force fields. You can create your own models or download fully modelled, cycles-ready models from the model library.
You can support the development of Object Assembler by purchasing models from the model library. All proceeds from the models are used for further development, fixing bugs and adding new features to Object Assembler or other free tools.

Truly impressive!
very nice... could have used this about 10 years ago!
Are the pipe assemblies made watertight?
Hehe :)
I like the concept of snap points, that let the user easily connect 2 objects together ! Maybe an interesting feature to be added globally in Blender ?
Yes, good idea, this kind of feature is very usefull !
I agree - the UI looks super easy to use.
DAMN IT, THIS LOOKS JUST EPIC ! <3
very useful add!!!
Looks very cool. I'm not a fan of your terms of use though.
Quite restrictive:
"You are only authorized to view, use, copy for your records and download small portions of the Content (including without limitation text, graphics, software, audio and video files and photos) of this Website for your informational, non-commercial use, provided that you leave all the copyright notices, including copyright management information, or other proprietary notices intact."
It seems to be in flux - and the terms vary from use of the website versus use of the free software versus use of the commercial package.
"Unless otherwise noted within the content."
Object Assembler: GNU GPL

"You can create your own models or download fully modelled, cycles-ready models from the model library."
Ah, thanks for clearing that up.
Now this is super!! I may need to create some duct parts... :)
Now, this is a F*KING GOOD addon!
I would be interested to know how large can this scale? What if you wanted to build a library of hundreds or thousands of objects? How many libraries could you have "active" to pull from at any given time? Guess I'll have to dig into the specifics to get my answer.
very nice
Holy smokes batman, that looks awesome!
I'm not only glad to see this development for what it offers as a user, but as someone slowly developing a few of my own add-ons for Blender who plans to use in-viewport buttons, I'd so glad to see another example of in-viewport buttons/menus.
Oh golly, this plugin is perfect for mechanic constructs and everything that has repetitive geometries and pieces and you don't want to duplicate and turn into the Array Modifier slave driver. Gotta give it a shot but instead of pipes, parts of masonry for a an ancient temple, hmm...
Hi, the website is down. Is there any one with the plugin? Thanks.
You can find it here : http://ge.tt/707O8xD2/v/0?c
I think I could use this but I can't find any place to download it. I only find site not found.
Enjoy : http://ge.tt/707O8xD2/v/0?c
thanks. do you know something about the emptygraphics_pipes_1.0_sample.blend file???
bes
Hi. Does anyone know how to contact the developer of Object Assembler add-on? There is no e-mail, no web site ... nothing at all... he is gone!
You can find the addon on github: https://github.com/ni-ko-o-kin/objectAssembler
The download "Object Assembler Information and Download" and the tutorial are not available.
