Ray Mairlot teaches us how to create this inflating text effect.
Ray writes:
Here's my latest tutorial based on my 'Inflating Text Effect' video, where text inflates thanks to a pump before over-inflating, whizzing off and deflating.
What you will learn:
- How to have animated stiffness in a cloth simulation
- How to reverse a cloth simulation using shape keys
- How to use multiple hook constraints so objects can connect and disconnect from one another

nice. Thank you.
Just a note, the singuler of “vertices” is “vertex”.
Reminds me again of a surprising omission among the preset screen layouts: there is none that makes it convenient to use the Node Editor.
Not the compositing layout? That's usually my starting point at least. Though I agree you'd probably use a slightly different scheme for material nodes. :)
Thank you, Ray!
How many different techniques are described here that I wasn’t aware of before:
• Sequential shape-key animation
• Animating vertex weights with Dynamic Paint
• Hook parenting
Did I forget anything? :)
