This has been lying dormant on my hard drive for almost four months now and I decided to finally submit it.

Very much inspired and influenced by the vast amount of architectural renders I am awed with, by the absurdity of freedom, by my older brother Rommel's sharing, and by faint memories of my childhood.

I'd really appreciate constructive comments and feedback for future art pieces to come.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Freaking Awesome

Congratulations, i like that projection, that makes the difference

hope to see more in future

  2. Very nice.

How many other amazing works are sitting on hard drives?

Everyone should have a dig around and get these dormant works of art out into the community. They really do help to inspire blender artists.

    Thanks Reynante.

  3. Hi, Reynante!
Is it based on a real architecture or something that was thought out?
I think many of us will like to see some real place (made in 3d) of your childhood if it was that nice like this one. :)

  4. Pretty awesome use of colors and spot on lighting and rendering:)
I really like the modelling and textures but i can't really get the feeling for the house..it looks great but surreal at the same time, a bit 50ies sci fi kinda jetsons look.
It rather seems to float on those small pillars instead of resting on em....

Basicly i just want to say that this woulda appealed to me even more if the building was more like a realistic house, with necessary features like steal beams to reinforce the structure and all the statics stuff. The Windows might look cool but would be certainly impractical in RL, same with the corners in the house how to put furniture into such a corner witht these sharp angles ..its subtle but u notice these strange things u'd rarely see on real buildings.

Maybe the house is intentionally freaked out, but since this comes along like great archviz one might (even unconsciously) stumble upon these lil differences to reality, wich take away a bit from the superb modelling, rendering and lighting.

  5. Nice render, it's just that I wouldn't specifically call that place a "home". The flowers and grass are too large (I mean, a flower the size of a deer? :P ). It looks kind of uncomfortable, actually. But overall, great render and nice color. :)
