We've received multiple concerned emails about BlenderArtist being unreachable. I just talked to Roel Spruit, admin of BlenderArtists and he explained the situation to me. The site has seen multiple technical problems lately and Roel has decided to take it offline so he can work on a permanent solution. He expects to return at the end of this week.

Oh that's bad :(. An entire week. Guess I'll have to figure out all of my problems on my own. These are the times you really appreciate the forum ;)!
If dontations help with a solution let us know. :) Otherwise happy hunting with the problem(s) Roel.
Al-Qaeda did it. The thumbnail is proof.
Roel Spruit, may the force be with you.
Thanks for the info! Let's hope all the problems get cleared out!
I knew it! An entire week without blenderartists connection.
"End of this week" ??
How can fixing this take a whole week? I assume he is working on this night and day now, isn't he?
This just proves how much the community means for us. Glad to receive some info, I'll just be patient out the week. Better to have a permanent solution than quick hacks.
I actually didn't realise how much I rely on Blenderartists... I've been stuck on a few things in the last few days and found it hard to get help... I can't wait for it to come back online.
I hope they have it up soon.
It is a very good site.

made my day
LOL:)
I can help!!!
That is too bad...I wish I could help.
It is when you can't reach a board anymore that you understand how much you appreciate it.
I hope the situation BA is going through will find a happy ending.

Best wishes BA, We love you, we hate you, please don't leave us alone for long.....
Thanks for the update. I hope things get sorted out. +1 on willing to donate something to help it along.
On the upside I can take the 15 hours I would've devoted to BA this week and try to get some of my projects completed. A little break from the addiction from time to time is probably healthy.
Yea, it's been so weird lately, past month or so. I've never seen a website go down so often.
Grumble grumble grumble...
pulled the pin and decided to build blender.. big thanks to demohero for his pdf on building with windows..... and sheesh seems that rotation_part is no longer part of mathutils.matrix
Get well soon BAF... I miss you.
That's it. I'm switching to Illusion Mage. ;^)
Thanks for all your hard work on the forum site, Roel! We'll see you on the other side.
Nah, Who cares?
Haven't been there in years.
This talk about donations interests me, +1 to make a fundraiser if need be.
Best of luck, Roel. We miss the forum T-T
Hi all,
Thanks for the support. Experts are looking at the situation as we speak.
Roel
Thanks Roel, websites... especially public forums can be a nightmare to administer and keep running smoothly. Thank you so much for all your hard work, this outage is a good reminder that I should donate to blenderartists.org once the site is up. I never realized how much I rely on it, and I should act accordingly and donate.
Darn! and i was starting to get used to being in a forum.
oh well. hopefully it will be back up soon.
Yay, less work for me! :P
...if there is something the community can do about >>> PLEASE LET US KNOW!...
We are cheering you on Goofster, you da man :D
if you are after quick help , then there is always IRC where myself and many other blender gods hang around
its #[email protected] , hope to see some of you there
AAUUUGHH oh so thts y its been down all tha time D:
@PlantPerson, love that post! lol
Please let us know if you need donations. I'll do anything, and I do mean ANYTHING to see blenderArtists back online *wink*
Well there´s facwbook with±
Blender Knowledge Base
Lol Plantperson... Good to get some time off at least.
And yeh, perhaps once its up again someone could get around to organizing some donation drive? BA does a lot for the community, being the core of it all. The guys who manage it deserve to have an easier time.
And for those who are stuck on an issue and need to ask questions etc get onto the IRC channel, hundreds of blender users on there pretty much 24/7, theres a game engine related channel as well for all us BGE users.
Damn, this sux! I have an awesome anim but i canot upload it
Would've been nice to put up a "under maintenance" page, tho... the "unreachable" error infers things are not being attended to...
Well this is pretty sad. I went to check on it tonight and thought it was just me, so I ran isup.me and sure enough it was down. :(
He totally should have used CloudFlare's free CDN to keep an archive up out there. :P
i just hope ill b able to make it through the week ARGHHH
Looking forward to Artists getting back online, but in the mean time if anyone needs help feel free to drop in at the forums at http://www.blenderunderground.com. Very friendly forum and we try our hardest to help with problems etc.
need this site back running!
i hope you can fix it.. maybe make the ui a little bit more user friendly ;-)

...whaaat?
And I was so going to win the weekend challange.
Hi,
I also hope that the site gets up soon. Good luck!
I just wonder why there was no information in advnance to the community (or was it but I did not find?) and why there is no easy startup page saying something like: 'This page is down for maintenacance until...'.
Just disapperaing is not the common and correct way.
There's a new message up over at blenderartists.org providing some information....
I didn't get the notice page when I tried to access blenderartists from firefox, just an access forbidden/denied message! Naturally I panicked. Did I get banned for non participation? was my account hacked by some one rude? I couldn't think of any reason why I would be suddenly forbidden to access the blenderartists website. So then I tried getting there with the dreaded Internet explorer, and the polite explanation page appeared. ( my ad-blocker was on in firefox and may have blocked it before.) I'm relieved to know whats going on, but hope the website will be back online soon. Best wishes everyone.
Good luck Goofster ! May you smite those Trojans with thunderbolts and crush your enemies beneath your mighty feet.
Keep it Going Belnder Artis Formun is very important :)
I know this is totally OT. But BA is down, and I figure all of my mourning friends would be drawn here, and I don't want anyone to miss out on this opportunity. In case you haven't heard pmg (the makers of messiah studio) is having a promotion that allows purchasing their animation software for just $10. This is a tool that many professional animators choose over all others (plus it's got a really nice renderer). Seeing how a lot of people in this community use Blender exclusively, I thought this was a wonderful opportunity for some to experiment with expanding their pipeline for a meager investment. Sometimes just the addition of one tool can radically change your production abilities. And though I love blender so much that I will never leave her no matter what, I have recently discovered that the more tools you have in the shed, the easier it is to get the job done. Just so this won't be both OT and spam, I'll leave it up to you to find the offer I'm talking about on Google and won't include a link. ;)
Not wanting to Hi-Jack BlenderArtists but I thought I would start my own Forum for Blender.
I know it's hard to feel confident in a forum with Zero discussions at the beginning, but
feel free to use it until BlenderArtists come back online.
I tried to structure it in a workflow method and also the Wiki progression of learning.
Anyway, it is here:

@FloorPlay-
You've been very naughty!!!!
