The macfanboy universe is buzzing with rumours of a new tablet pc. Take a look at this video and pay attention to the last scene!
In the comments on YouTube the author thenewtouch writes:
Q: haha why do you have the blender monkey as a picture at the end?
A: I used Blender to make all these videos so I felt the need to express that in a few of them.
So, there's the reason why I posted this video here ;-)

touchscreen+blender...? I think I would cream my pant... (and finally a good reason to show some love for blender mac users...)
Although report of a mac tablet come every year... what makes people think it is real this time ?
Pc software is so not ready for multi touch, not even the foss world is.
suzanne,
heyhey i've see her...
yeah
finger prints all over the screen....
@aws357 I dont know if I'm halusinating but I saw one today in the computer store. I didn't pay much attention to it. Since I saw mac interface on it. But it's there. And I saw it.
Haha , from how my iphone looks after gaming etc, I think it's gonna be hard doing blender3d work on it :D
That video was just a mockup, but did they make that mockup with blender?! omg nice done if so.
yep Suzanne on second 23
Pure awesomeness. And some gulping added. ^_^
That 3d hand and cheap sans text look too fugly for the official Apple commercial. That guy made it on himself and I don't think it's worth to be on news today.
@Agent: Get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Care to show us how much better you can do?
@article/video: I wouldn't be surprised to see an ad almost exactly like that, in terms of design and composition, if Apple ever did release a touchscreen Mac. TheNewTouch definitely captured the feel of Apple's Mac and iPod ads with this video, and watching it got me excited, despite the fact that it's just a (recurring) rumor.
I have to say, though, that I too constantly have fingerprints all over my iPod Touch screen, and also the lack of any stylus compatibility makes it impossible to write or draw on the screen, and can make other precision tasks more difficult (such as moving the cursor or selecting text, or aiming in some games). I'd like to know that there'd be some way to use a stylus with the screen on a "Mac Touch," even if it were electronic and had to be plugged in (or ran on batteries). In the meantime, there's always the Axiotron Modbook.
Fun looking ad, although in a real mac ad I would guess they would either use real hands or the 3D hands would be photorealistic.
Very awesome! Improve the texture on the hands and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Unfortunately a Mac table/slate is just one of those items that Macfans clammer for, but Cupertino won't prove. But if they do chose to make one, at least Steve and Co. will have some pretty great ideas... :)
I like touch screen technology. It would be fun to model in blender with multi-touch. However in my opinion visual recognition software is a more powerful and versatile medium. It would allow for actual 3d interaction with the computer, leverage hand gestures. and do anything a touch screen can do and more plus remotely, all without smudging the screen. It is the only thing I can foresee truly replacing a mouse at this point. Small devices will use touch screens, but I think at some point it is possible small cameras will do all this and more on laptops and home computers. Microsoft is already working on implementing this technology as is some of the Linux community. Such technology would be better for working in blender I think. Mac can go in the touchscreen direction, and it would be good for a while, but they had better be farther seeing if they want to get ahead of the curve rather than perpetually behind it.
As far as the video It is very well done and I think that it is awesome that Blender was sneakily incorporated. Great move! I love it!
The video's author should rapidly patent or register his work, then he could milk Apple out in a near future, calling for plagiarism.

Wow cool. Though the hand looks fake it is still quite effective.
@Dread Knight: I've got a touchsmart tx2 - PC's are definitely ready for t the touchscreen :)
I also found using a smudge guard prevents fingerprints. (it also comes with a stylus -helpful for taking notes :) )
I wonder on the price though. I think I would not be able to afford it. Still it is good to have something to dream of having.
