Tennessee Conference cancelled, Free Mini Conference announced.
Byron Kindog wrote: Due to the lack of response to the Tennessee Blender Conference August 1 and 2, 2009, we are forced to cancel it for this year. All money collected is being returned. The Tri Cities Blender Group will be hosting a free mini conference the day of our regular next meeting on Sunday, August 9.
We will meet from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at the Kingsport Renaissance Center , 1200 Center Street, Kingsport, Tennessee, Room 313. Everyone is welcome to come, for the day of presentations and socialization. We will have several speakers and video presentations. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide food or door prizes for this event, as it is free and there are no funds for such amenities. The space is being provided by the Kingsport Art Guild.
Please email me, if you plan to attend or for more information at [email protected] .

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. I had not even heard of the original conference (although I don't visit the homepage very much so I suppose thats why)

I would love to go to the replacement meeting in Kingsport though! I'll email you about it

  2. Sorry to hear about the original event, but enjoy the mini-conference!

These things are hard to organize and publicize. Better luck in the future.

  3. Bart, stel ik voor om begin het van de woord „God“ met hoofdletter te schrijven - iemand kon offensief in kleine letters vinden…

  4. WOOOOOOOT!!!! Ive always wanted to go to a blender conference, but for some reason they are always so far away. I'm thrilled that there will be one in my neck of the woods. Count me in!

  5. The meeting was great Byron!
Thank you so much for organizing the presentations so I could see the ones I needed before I left! They were very helpful.
I hope we can get the big conference together next year! I would definitely attend
