Hello China!

The Chinese blog Crossmovie diligently translated our articles into Chinese. Hello unknown author - now YOU're on BlenderNation too! :) Would you care to introduce yourself to the community?

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Don't give them the tutorials,
give them just the source code to implement Blender!!!!!!!!

    Kidding only :))))

    Hello China!

    Cheers from Slovenia!

  2. Welcome China from America!! Has anyone else thought that Blender could become an awesome tool to foster international relations as well as all things 3D!

  3. Yes, Blender is very multi-cultural. It's sad we all can get along better than our governments to one another...

    Hello China!

    Cheers from the USA!

  5. Good to see Blender has spread to China.

As some one who was born in Scotland, raised in Northern Ireland and now lives in Sweden, while working in Denmark, I just want to say, welcome and good to hear of your good translation work.

I hope to see great work on Blender from China.

  6. Whilst it's great that people are welcoming China as a Blender user group with this article, I understand that it has been an active part of the overall comminity for a while now through http://www.blendercn.org/

Whilst the amount of enlish is minimal on the site (obviously) I can navigate enough to find visual works, including a great Wall-E remake amongst others. Just thought people would like to know if they didn't already.

Thanks to the translator too. Making information / documentation available to all is a very important and respectable task indeed.

  7. Hello Blender world!

I am learning Blender. I admire it very much. All the Chinese who are learning or using this marvelous software should have the same feeling. I think I could thank Blender development team for their hard work and brilliant success on behalf of them.

It is not me who did this. I am still a newbie. I am determined to learn Blender well. This takes time. For the Chinese English language is a problem. Other software products such as 3dmax or Maya are facing the same problem of language but they're popular in China. The difference is that they have been translated into Chinese. You can easily find their tutorial books or CDs in any bookstores. We do need a well written Blender textbook(s or CDs) in Chinese. I think someone will do it. Otherwise I would think about it(when I have mastered the software).

Thank you once again. I believe more and more Chinese will join the Blender community.
