I put together a video tour of the SIGGRAPH 2008 Expo and some of the electronic art to try a give those of you who have never experienced SIGGRAPH a taste of it. The Expo is like a one giant collage of colors and sounds of technology. A place where art and technology collide. The video opens with a walk through some of the vendor exhibits in the early morning before most of the people arrive. It later then comes alive with the buzz of the exhibitors and attendees followed with some of the art.

GOOD LORD I WISH I WAS THERE!!!!!!!
sweet! I want to go, but it's too far away!
much better than images ;)
you forgot the 2008 Studio area ;)
Class, Unfortunately I lost a lot of video due to a bad recording setting on my part.
For 3D enthusiasts, Siggraph must really be a sight to behold.
I wish I could be there too... :)
thx for showing , were those coloured sculptures 3d printed?
hey,
there was a call for making a demo reel for siggraph 08.. is that put together yet?
when would it be released?
Tim
Oh no - ah well I also totally forgot to do more images. Man the show went by so fast....
I was quite busy at the Studio Booth.
But it was fun - I showed a jewelry artist some digital 3d work (displacement mapping modeling) for her jewelry bracelet print and CNC machining.
Ysvry,
Those sculptures were h I dont think 3D printed.
They were huge. The design village had 3D printed work Architecture and abstract.
The Japanse booth was nice (had the best Sake) but the sculptures were playing a terrible woman scream voice for 5 days. Argh ...
I felt like the mars aliens in Mars Attacks.
i know this is off topic, but does anyone know why the blender.org site is down? Its been down for two days (I think)
:( no sound?
Thanks fer' the tour, Tim... you lucky SIGGRAPH dawgs, you!
Ok. we need to see interview with Ton and bassa and others at the show and how blender booth is attracting the common on looker.
