Andrey M. Izrantsev (aka bdancer) has started developing an integration between V-Ray and Blender. He is dividing the project into two phases; exporter and full integration. They are now at phase 1 and the exporter is ready for download.

this is great... Would it be possible to create materials inside Blender and then copy the V-Ray parameters into 3DSMAX? (Or even better, export .MAT files from Blender to import in 3DSMAX, but I guess there would be propietary issues)
Holy Smokes, now I know the reason I left lightwave was a good move. Keep moving forward opensource.
OMG!
oh! didnt know...There's a free version of V-Ray!
How did you deduce that there are three developers? bdancer is the nick name of the developer.
Best of luck to the project!
Strange, I thought that Andrey Izrantsev was bdancer ;) not so many people.
Way to go guys, keep up the awesome work!
Does anybody know, what is the difference between the "free" version of V-Ray and the commercial version?
Anybody got it to work? the free vray version from chaosgroup doesnt contain a vray binary just dlls
is this just for v-ray core 1.60?(v-ray frame buffer screenshot)
Three developers, Andrey, bdancer, Izrantsev = one developer: Andrey Izrantsev {'bdancer' is his nickname}
from where can be downloaded the free v-ray?

For what you have Google? Ehh. But this is really very good news. Especially for architecture modellers.
