Once again, a parallel Blender Conference will be held on the North American continent during one week after the Blender Conference 2007 in Amsterdam on october 20th and 21st. This year it'll be in New York.

A new year, a new Blender conference!
A lot of things new and different for this year conference! First of all, the conference won't be in Montréal this year. It will be in New-York. To make a long story short, we had some problem last year with the Bois-de-Boulogne school because they wouldn't let us use the place for free (which can be understood) and we needed to deal with them up until the last minute. This year, I didn't want to put as much stress on myself, so I moved the conference to a more "secure" location. This year conference will be held in New-York at the Polytechnic University in Brooklyn.
So if you are interested in the conference, be sure to visit our new website. We will be adding more content on the website so be sure to stay tuned!
If you have any question about the conference, be sure to email Jean-Sébastien "Ecks" Guillemette at xwarrior [at]hotmail.com. If you'd like to make a presentation/demo on a specific subject at the conference you can email Jonathan "Mr_Bomb" Williamson at shadowdragon1 [at]gmail.com
Hope to see a lot of you there!
Bye,
The whole 2007 Blender Conference staff!
I admire this team for pulling this off every year - great job, guys!

Well,
Nice to know that there's an alternative for you guys living outside Europe. I wonder what language they speak in "New York".
remember, new york was also known as new amsterdam - I bet it's dutch ;)
"why they changed it I can't say, maybe they liked it better that way!"
Wow! NY! Very nice! :)
Just a little mistake in the news. We are hosting the conference in New-York 1 week after the conference in Amsterdam. We decided to do so to let some people go to both conference if they are willing to! Anyway, in the past years, there was almost zero transfer between both conference so it's of no use to make both at the same time.
Be sure to email us if you guys have any questions!
I hope to see a lot of you there, it's going to be a blast!
@Jean-Sébastien: oops, my bad. I've updated the text!
wow, perhaps I can go now - that's not too far from me!
I'm a student at Poly. It's going to be great. I wasn't sure that I had chosen the right college, but if they're going to support Blender I'm staying. : )
Excuse me but,
Blender nation says --- "one week AFTER the Blender Conference 2007 in Amsterdam on october 20th and 21st."
And on the http://blenderheads.com/nyconf/ site it says
"actually held 1 week BEFORE the Amsterdam Blender Conference. Which place our conference, here in New-York, on the 20 and 21 of October 2007."
So is it BEFORE OR AFTER?
Sounds like fun either way though
@Marslyr: The BConf Amsterdam is from 12-14 October, the BConf NY is from 20-21 October. I was right! (Which is somewhat of an exception ;-)
@Marslyr: yeah sorry, just a little mistake on our website. Fixed now! So yeah, the conference is on the 20 and 21 of October 2007
Nice logo. Total illegal, very nice. New Amsterdam was sold for an apple and an egg to the british invaders. They renamed it after York. Good thing they took the apple as icon andd not the egg :P
