French Comic Produced with Blender

15

tase_comic.jpgTase, from the French community BlenderClan has finished his first comic, and he's about to show it to French editors. He did a great and entertaining work, and very stylish also.

Check out his WIP thread, with a lot of different pictures.

The 3D part is really interesting, with a great and consistent use of radiosity. Tase gives us a view on the 5 first pages here.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. that's great! i too am finding blender an indespensible tool in illustration now. how did you get the lines to have varying thickness? when i try the outlines, they are so uniform and underwhelming...cant get that handdrawn look with it.

  2. Yes, please show us how you got a better result in your lines than the standard edge settings. Great looking images!

  3. Studio Stockwell on

Great stuff!! Sometimes i wonder what i would be doing? If it was not for Ton and the Blender team.

    Thanks \^_^/

  4. These look nice with some exceptions in the outline department. One more reason to get freehand inside blender - this comic will explode with awesome! :D
