I just wanted to inform you and Blendernation readers that we will be presenting Plumiferos at 22nd Mar del Plata Film Festival in March 10th. This is a very important Film festival here in Argentina which attracts important national and international artists. This year the guys from Aardman will be present, so we are all excited about meeting them too.

We will be showing a fresh new trailer with real sequences from the film (not like the teasers that were online until a few months ago that showed animation tests) plus several complete sequences in a special Work In Progress session that will take place that day.

Part of the Plumíferos Cast will be there to celebrate with us a memorable night.

The trailer will be online AFTER the Festival so everyone will have the chance to watch it.

You can check out our banner for the festival at Plumiferos' site too :)

From other emails I received from Malefico it sounds like the crew is doing some major crunch-time at this moment to get things ready for this festival, and I really hope it'll be a rewarding experience for all of them. With some luck, Malefico will be able to post a report on the event here later next week.

Good luck guys, have fun and don't forget to put that trailer online! We're all looking forward to it here :)

It's on of the most impressive images I ever seen from a movie. Super incredible effects, it's just amazing.

  2. Well I think plumiferos will probably have one of the biggest impacts on the acceptance of blender as a production quality tool. ED strated the ball rolling and Plumiferos will set it in Concrete. The team you have assembled have done a remarkable job so far, and we are all looking forward to the final release, which still seems a way off. Good luck on Sunday, and good luck with the finalization of this wonderful project!

  3. I have always wanted to meet the aardman team. they are the best claymation animators in the world.

waiting for that trailer, from what I've seen so far it aught to be good

  4. yay! new stuff! :)

the trailer will be online after the festival, hope to see some Mar del Plata' blenderheads there! I will be the one with the hand-painted Blender t-shirt :)

(10th is saturday, not sunday, tsk tsk)

  5. pamtango: Hey tanguerita ! hope to see you again in Buenos Aires any time :)
McPhergus: Yeah, unfortunately the Festival organisation ommited to publish anything related with Plumiferos :-( but we are going to show the new trailer plus around 15 minutes of rendered sequences to give people a glance of what we are doing. Media coverage promises to be extensive so stay tuned for news.

I'm at the lobby of the hotel right now just about to leave to the Festival. We are going to put the trailer online as soon as we get back from Mar del Plata.
