The Virtual Museum of Computers in Ciudad Real, Spain, offers a walk through the history of computers. Next to their display of a cool array of old computers, they have also created a virtual walkthrough, using Blender in the process. I was in need of a snow material for a current project when I remembered the Blender Materials site. I hadn't been there in quite a while and I found exactly what I needed for this project. It saved me a lot of time. There's quite an impressive collection of FREE materials. I also noticed on thier home page that they have celebrated their first anniversary this month. So Congratulations and hats off to you all at Blender Materials for an outstanding job and collection.

Looking for cool organic Blender materials? Check out this thread on BlenderArtists.org. It's a golden oldie that started almost three years ago. It contains lots of samples and quite a few .blends for download. Some of these materials are not easy on the stomach if you just woke up which is a big compliment to the creators! ;-)
Here's a resource you may know about already, but still definitely worth a mention! The Blender Open Material Repository is a site with over 200 native Blender materials available for download. Subjects range from typical (Car Paint) to the downright bizarre (Brains).
