The latest update to ManuelBastioniLAB, the versatile Blender character studio, makes it even easier to generate models from scratch.
Manuel Bastioni writes:
The new version 1.2.0 of ManuelBastioniLAB, the open source character generator for Blender, is ready for download!
It introduces two fundamental new features: the auto-modelling for body and the measure system.
The auto-modelling is an innovative way to create characters starting from a 3d draft. The user just provides a very rough model of what he has in mind, and the system automatically turns it in a realistic and coherent character.
The measure system is the long waited feature, as requested by ergonomic designers, anthropologists and fashion designers. Now the artist can easily create a character just giving the body measures. The measures can be also exported and imported using json file format.
The version 1.2.0 also includes a new GUI, completely redesigned in order to increase the usability and productivity.
The addon is free and open source, available at manuelbastioni.com.

I seem to be facing an error with your addon. every time i try to "Init Character" it gives me a traceback error. I am running blender version 2.76, and version 1.10 of this addon worked fine.
The error it gave me

Please help. I really like this addon and want to play around with the new features.
Thanks.
you may need to delete the manuellab addon folder and instead of reinstalling it inside of blender just extract the 1.2.0 zip and move the folder to \addons. It worked for me so I hope it helps.
Thanks a lot! Works fine now. I wonder what happened with the automatic install...
Looks pretty cool, I'm surprise at how fast it works. I'm guessing you loose the ability to auto-model once you start changing the initial model's topology?
