1) Upcoming 2.76 release
- There are still reports which need fixing before we can do RC1, so we plan to do 'testbuild-2' mid week.
2) Other projects
- Julian Eisel posted a user-level design document for the widget system.
- Khanh Ha is working on a new & improved 'Skin' modifier.
The Custom Manipulator Project

I remember seeing this "Custom Manipulator" concept proposed a while back, hoping it'd see the light of day. So nice to see its development is going on.
I think "Custom Manipulator" (or whatever its final name will be) might become one of those rare kind of features that make you forget the older way you used to do things, because this solution works so well.
And good luck with the improvements to the Skin Modifier, Khanh Ha! Good luck to the team overall.
