Blender Developer Notes: January 11, 2015

1

It looks like this week's meeting was a short one.
Ton Roosendaal writes:

Hi all,

Here are the notes from today's 15h UTC meeting in irc.freenode.net #blendercoders

1) The 2.73 release

  • Last week Blender V2.73 was released!
  • So far all is still ok - no showstoppers were reported yet. We'll check next week again if there are important fixes for an 'a' update.

2) Targets for 2.74

Proposal for new release, the "BCon" planning:

  • BCon1: January 04 (define targets, branches reviewed & ready)
  • BCon2: January 18 (add branches to git, targets are defined)
  • BCon3: February 15 (testing and fixing period)
  • BCon4: March 1 (provide test build, fixing only)
  • BCon5: March 8 (git frozen, RC a few days after)

The updated wiki page with plans is here.

Julian Eisel has his "sticky keys" project finished, gets added to the review targets.

Thanks,

-Ton-

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
