Blender users in Portland are meeting this Saturday.

A. PoorBUG writes:

The Portland, Oregon Blender User Group (BlenderPDX) is holding a meeting on Saturday, the 17th of May at the Art Institute or Portland, room 213 (a Mac lab) from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Seating is limited, but everyone is welcome to come, explore, and share their experiences with Blender! We are completely free and open. We are very newb friendly, because we are all newbs.

There's no need to bring anything but yourself. However, you may benefit from bringing your own thumb drive to swap-n-share and save all sorts of stuff that we'll be doing.

For more info, check us out at BlenderPDX.org, Portland Blender MeetUp, 17 May 2014, BlenderPDX Events on Facebook, and contact us with questions or suggestions at [email protected].

We also cast our MeetUps via Google+ Hangout parties. So, if you want to join in but are unable to show up physically, contact us at [email protected] and we'll add you to the circle and invite you in.

What is it about our group logo, the BlenderPDX “Splash”?

Blender has made one of the biggest splashes for virtually all of us in this 3DCG enthusiast support group, with many thanks to Ton, the Blender Foundation and the Blender community at large.

Water is to life as art is to the Spirit, and Blender is the fundamental motivator for us here at Portland International's Blender Users Group, BlenderPDX. Blender is creating an impact much larger than itself, inspiring us to greater artistic heights and constantly propelling us forward with visual innovations.

This watery symbol can easily allude to the soggy northwest region of Oregon and Washington. Water is also exceptionally important to our local mascot [to be included soon]and good friend of Suzanne.

Keep it up, Blender. We'll keep spinnin' with ya.
