About the Author
Bart Veldhuizen I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

It would be nice to see this in more detail. Any link to the original?
http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=34032 is the uncropped version. Unfortunantly cycles kind of killed a lot of the detail.
http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=34031 is another one I did in BI which preserves a bit more of it.
It's great!
Did you made the heightmap in blender? How did you paint the riverflows?
http://www.world-machine.com/ to make the height map. (
http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=34033 is a screenshot of one of the node set ups (not this exact one)) WM can export erosion, flow, and deposition maps and I used Photoshop along with some simple procedural textures.
Thanks! I was using Geocontrol 2, but couldn't get the flows right.
