Character Bust

1

By Erik Petnehazi.

Hello There! I am Erik, a 19 years old 3D student at University in Glasgow, and for one of my module I was tasked to design and create a photo-realistic character bust. Our lecturer gave us the freedom to use any render engine for our renders and any additional software to complete our project, so it was clear for me that I will use Blender as my main software! :D

I am fairly new to sculpting and this was my first time approaching to create a photo-realistic character.

My idea was to make her fit into the Star Wars universe, a person who would be a force wielder, and good and evil at the same time.

I chose Cara Delevingne as the likeness for my character, since she is a beautiful and a very powerful looking woman in my opinion.

I used Blender and zBrush for sculpting, Maya for retopology, 3DS Max for unwrapping (I had to use zBrush, Maya and Max at some point to be able to pass the module) and Substance Painter for texturing. Then I brought everything back to Blender to make the hairs (hairs, eyebrows, eyelashes and the "peach fuzz") using Blender's hair particle system and then played with the materials until I got the model ready for lighting and rendering (using Cycles). I used Photoshop for post production.

I uploaded my project to BlenderArtists where you can find some more high res renders :)
