Figured I'd do a quick rundown on how to create a custom startup file. I now realize there are already a few videos on this, but maybe a new user watching my videos will find this and find it useful. If you have any suggestions for my startup file, please share!

mine is a bit different. I have set up different screen for different tasks.. like animation, post processing etc.. I know they are there already by default, but I didn't quite like them.. and there were things I didn't use.. so I removed unnecessary things, and customized them to work better for me, and for my dual monitor setup.
also, as startup scene I have Blender Internal renderer set (I rarely use cycles).. with basic three point -lighting setup.. default cube I kept, because I think Blender just needs that to be there. oh, and I too have camera focus emptything..

Great tutorial. I like have 3D view at top, dope sheet middle, and time line at bottom for do animation.
Does this not show the need for Startup that gives various option startup files, per user, per work type etc...?
I thinking particularly of window layouts
