It’d be interesting if Blender’s VSE could eventually be developed into a dedicated full-featured editor, complete with production-ready functionalities and presets.
JJ Abrams just called me up and says he is now looking to switch to Blender for all his 3-D elements! On a serious note, this is a great tool to have within Blender as good lens flares, used in moderation, can add a lot of realism to an animation, or still render. As a natural part of a camera’s optics, which in many scenarios is something to be avoided, is also expected in other scenarios, and with just the right touch of subtlety can add that imperceptible realism.
