cgvirus writes:

Hey Folks!
I am developing a optical flare engine addon for Blender VSE for my studio. Our team feels Optical Flare should be a post process so here it is. It's now in beta stage. I will experiment with it in real time productions and refine it further more. You are welcome to test it and use it anywhere.

So...how soon before we start seeing this handy add-on waaaay overused everywhere? I give it by the end of the week. Hahaha!
    Just a bit of jest.

It'd be interesting if Blender's VSE could eventually be developed into a dedicated full-featured editor, complete with production-ready functionalities and presets.

    • JJ Abrams just called me up and says he is now looking to switch to Blender for all his 3-D elements! On a serious note, this is a great tool to have within Blender as good lens flares, used in moderation, can add a lot of realism to an animation, or still render. As a natural part of a camera's optics, which in many scenarios is something to be avoided, is also expected in other scenarios, and with just the right touch of subtlety can add that imperceptible realism. Thanks for your hard work and contribution to Blender cgvirus!

  2. Thanks All! Very inspiring comments. I am now in the second phase of the dev. Some optics math is needed. Let's see...Hope for the best!
