New SynthEyes Exporter for Blender 2.57

SynthEyes now supports Blender 2.58 with a new export script, and Mike Hornett shows how to use it in a videotutorial.

FloridaJo writes:

Good news for SynthEyes users.  Andersson Technologies LLC (maker of SynthEyes) has released a beta version Blender 2.57 exporter (of course for customers). A tutorial by Mike Hornett on how to install, export, then import tracking and mesh data into Blender can be found here:

  1. Actually the video is by me Joel Godin.
MikeHornett is my Blender channel name.
    No biggy.
And a typo says 2.58 in one sentence, but it is 2.57.
Thanks for passing this on Bart.

  2. This is great news. Syntheyes is an absolutely amazing piece of software for the price. Russ is also a very helpful if in trouble. Downloaded already, I will see if it works now. One thing he mentions on his website which we could probably help with is this:

"if you can get blender texture-map transparency to work, or better-lit meshes, let us know. "

Still thanks for the heads up.

  3. Great tutorial. SynthEyes is awesome and the exporter makes it even better. No more running the script in 2.49.

Lol regarding the "guru-ish" guy fishing. He is amazing - no disrespect, but I did lol.

  4. This is great news. It's all about keeping the pipeline up-to-date, even if it means interfacing with closed-source programs.

My only gripe is the fact that it's SynthEyes, a pretty costly piece of software. Blender is completely free and it kinda defeats the purpose when you use Photoshop, AfterEffects, SynthEyes, etc..
