Libre Graphics Meeting, Lyon, France

LGM LogoThe first Libre Graphics Meeting will be held on 17, 18 and 19 March 2006 in Lyon, France. It will be a melting pot, with free software graphics developers and artists meeting each other, exchanging ideas and tips, and planning the future of free graphics. The meeting will bring together developers and users of the best of free software graphics applications - GIMP, Inkscape, Scribus, Blender and more.

On Saturday the 18th Rui Campos will host a presentation about Blender and Project Orange. The schedule suggests that the first public airing of Elephant's Dream, the movie that Orange is producing, will be then. I'm not sure that the Orange team is going to make that date, though...

Someone will send us a nice report with some pictures of Rui's presentation, right?

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. I sure I will find other Blender Heads there that can take some shots of it ;) .
It would be cool if they could record some sessions, but I think it isn't planned yet.

  2. Anyway, forgot to mention it, I will make a daily report on things, so I will eventually post it here, so people have an up to date feedback on things going on there.

  3. It's very likely I'll be at Lyon during the LGM, but I'm not quite sure on which day. I'll come with a photo camera so that we'll have a few shots if I'm here for your presentation, Rui! ;)
