Urban Etiquette

Jere, Pete & Jussi write:

Urban etiquette is a series of twenty pairs of five-second animation, created as channel idents for Channel Four Finland / Nelonen. The aim was to approach the subject of being polite and mindful towards others in an urban environment. It was conceived of and produced by living dead pixels — Jere Virta, Jussi Saarelma and Peter Schulman. The trio has worked with Blender for about two years now, their previous bigger project being short animation Night of the Living Dead Pixels, which won the best short film -category at Suzanne Awards 2007.

The main tool in the making of channel idents was Blender, though also After Effects and Photoshop were used. The sound design was handled by Renny Järvinen and Kimmo Saarelainen of Nelonen Media.

Urban etiquette originally consisted of 20 pairs, but two pairs were taken out after about a week of the initial launch, because some people chose to misunderstood them.
