I met Roy Simmons about two years ago when I was in London for work. He then showed me a training DVD that he had created. The content of this DVD is now available online for free.
Roy writes:
This course is based on a successful DVD Video. I have decided to re-master the whole course for the web, it is a proven way to learn Blender 3d.
The best way to learn is to complete all 3 sections; introduction to the Blender interface, setting up the workspace. Then the City tutorials, followed by the more advanced building a caterpillar character. Once you have completed these, you will have gained a good grounding in Blender 3d.
Roy’s videos are not ‘traditional’ video-tutorials that are recorded in realtime with narration, but rather annotated step-by-step instructions. I first thought this might be boring, but after watching a few of his tutorials I now believe that this is actually a great way to allow students to follow the instruction and repeat the exercises in their own pace.
Oh, and Roy: sorry for the delay in posting this. Next time I’m in London, drinks are on me!
