Video Tutorials: Blender Class in Tokyo, Japan

shige_th.jpgI was pleasantly surprised by an email that I received from Shigeto Maeda. Those of you who have been around for a few years will remember him; Shigeto created the most wonderful art of organic and technical objects. He also produced the book ‘Ka-ra: Shigeto Maeda’s Blender Art Works’ for Not a Number. He is now a teacher at Tokyo Kasei University and for this he has published a number of video tutorials.

I started new class of CG at university last week, of course I use Blender. And I’m making some movies of tutorial video for student’s review and absence. The movies are 320*240 pics, so it’s iPod video size. I put the movies on my new iPod/w/video, it’s very small screen but I could see very clear. I think this way is very useful, if the students have new iPod.

Anyone who interested in the movies, see this. mov 01-04 are for 1st week, 05-09 are for this week. Now I’m making next week’s movs.

Even though the tutorials are in Japanese, you’ll find them quite easy to follow: Shigeto has taken care to highlight the used hotkeys in the videos and if you listen well you’ll hear many English words such as ‘spacebar’, ‘cube’ and ‘extrude’ ;-)
