Ponderosa Pine Hill

0

By Carl Roe.

The version 6 release of The Grove sent me back to my Ponderosa Pine twigs I had created awhile back. After creating a new Ponderosa Pine preset with the new improved release I edited the old twig materials and added a few new twig variations. A Megascans atlas was used for the new needles and Quixel Mixer was used to create a few new bark materials. Other Megascans flora assets were used as well as some Megascans ground surfaces and 3d scatter assets. The great add-on Graswald filled up most of the ground flora, utilizing the age settings and customizable color settings for the grasses and flowers. I used an HDRI Haven image to light the scene, rendered it with a transparent background, and then rendered a separate HDRI image that was more interesting to use as the background and composited them in Photoshop. This scene is something that could be found in the dry savannah areas of Eastern Washington.
