"The day after the clash, we woke up in the rain, as if the gods had started to cry watching what had happened. We departed for Rome, and the road was dotted with crosses of traitors. We had crucified them the day before, and many of them were already dead. We marched without flags in front of those corpses, our heads bent, crushed by the pursuits and battles. Cursed traitors! If they had acted differently, how much harm could have been avoided?"
