I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Community Lead at n8n.

Nice! Just curious–what did you use to achieve the molten part of the cube? Is that melted part all just sculpted from the cube or is that fluid simulation converted to a mesh and then combined with the cube?
Thanks guys!
Since this was just a speedy I simply painted the transitions, here you can see a clayrender: http://www.saphirestudio.at/wptest/speedart-rubiks-cube/
However I`m planning to do an animation of this as soon as I have some free time on my hands again, I already have an idea how to tackle this. :)
“I’m planning some tutorials..”

I also very curious about that.. How did you do it?
The painted like colors in the cube are also very nice.
Maybe because I love Dalí, but I think this is amazing.
I hate the word and avoid using it as much as I can, which basically means I never use it. But this time I have to:
Awesome!
