Longing Look

The image and the whole concept emerged from a quick sculpt I did with nothing specific in mind, which ended up resembling an house-elfish creature. Because the most significant thing that I remembered about these is their facial expression, I tried to replicate it. It's that kind of melancholic, suffering hangdog look everyone knows ;)
Blender was used for everything except for the textures.


  1. hi...great piece....I really like the detail on the wrinkles and the pores...can you tell us a little bit about the rendering workflow?, Did you use a displacement map?....or any especial setup to get the high frequency detail to show up nicely in Cycles?...
