I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Looking good, but more than half of the scene is a curtain with no reason and the big shadow on it doesn't connect to the story.
It has a gentle touch and It would be a great frame after some placement tweaks

  2. Thanks for your critique. What was not explained here is that the purpose of this scene is to showcase my curtain material for the ongoing LuxRender "Materials and Textures"-competition. You can download it here: http://www.luxrender.net/lrmdb2/en/material/view/113

So you're absolutely right about that the curtain takes much room. It may not be the best composition, but as it's mostly a showcase for the curtain material I think it's ok.

    regards
    Simon
