Bart Veldhuizen I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). The feeling of "air". It feels like the air where the strong light passes through it has some light dust or something in it.
The only way I know of creating that in blender is to use volumetrics. And cycles doesn't support volumetrics yet. But Blender internal, and lux support it (and some other properitary renderers).
